Redesigning a Certification Exam Preparation Experience

Problem:
Instructors and learners requested improvements to the existing certification exam preparation feature to make it more authentic and user-friendly.

Solution:
I led the learning science aspects of the redesign, ensuring the certification exam preparation experience was more reflective of real certification exams, easier for instructors to use, and provided improved feedback for learners, resulting in a 60% increase in learner engagement.
Creating an AI Solution to Tailor Learning Paths

The team needed to develop an AI-powered feature to create personalized learning paths that were tailored to the skill needs of learners.

Yoga for Fertility
Articulate Storyline 360

Problem:
Fertility patients in New York City were experiencing high levels of stress during IVF and IUI treatments. These levels of stress were impacting patient outcomes.

Solution:
I designed a course on Articulate Storyline to teach patients that are undergoing fertility treatments how to practice yoga and meditation to both reduce stress and improve fertility outcomes.
How to use Nearpod
Camtasia
Role: Instructional Designer
Problem:
A public school in New York City purchased a Nearpod subscription to help teachers design engaging lessons. The teachers needed to learn how to use the software but did not have a lot of time to be trained.

Solution:
I designed and created a video using Camtasia to teach teachers how to create and implement lessons using Nearpod.
Mindful Wellness Course

Problem:
Employees at a large hospital in a practice scenario have experienced high levels of stress due to the pandemic. They needed stress-relieving techniques to improve wellness.

Solution:

Mexico City Business Travel Guide Course
Articulate Rise 360
Role: Instructional Designer
Problem:
Hundreds of employees were struggling during their business trips to Mexico City due to difficulty communicating and understanding cultural practices when collaborating with their Mexican colleagues in a practice scenario. They were also having trouble with logistics such as transportation. They needed an on-demand training solution to prepare for their trip.

Solution:
I designed and created an on-demand e-learning course in Rise to help business travelers communicate and collaborate more effectively on their trip. By keeping the modules brief, interactive, and on-point, employees know how to communicate in basic Spanish, understand cultural practices, and plan the logistics of their trip in under 30 minutes. Employees can access the training on mobile, tablet, or desktop.
STEM Curriculum Design
Role: Curriculum Designer
I designed a year-long blended-learning course that incorporates both Biology and Geometry concepts and includes both eLearning and Instructor-Led Training resources for English Language Learner students between 16-20 years old. The goal of the course is for students to diagnose a patient using cell biology and fractal geometry. This project incorporates Inquiry-Based Learning and Project-Based Learning, allowing learners to master their learning outcomes by solving a real-world case.
